Recombinant DNMT3A

Recombinant DNMT3A

Recombinant DNMT3A is the principal de novo DNA methyltransferase used to investigate epigenetic regulation, DNA methylation establishment, enzyme activity, and inhibitor discovery. Commercially available as full-length protein or as individual functional domains, recombinant DNMT3A supports biochemical, structural, and chromatin interaction studies while providing a reliable platform for understanding methylation-dependent gene regulation.

Expression Systems & Quality

Full-length proteins are commonly expressed in insect or mammalian cells to preserve native folding and post-translational modifications, whereas isolated domains are frequently produced in E. coli. Product quality should be verified by purity, sequence confirmation, enzymatic activity, oligomeric state, endotoxin level, and recommended storage conditions.

Research Applications

  • Epigenetic studies: DNA methylation and chromatin regulation.
  • Drug discovery: Methyltransferase activity assays and inhibitor screening.
  • Structural biology: Cryo-EM, X-ray crystallography, and protein interaction analyses.
  • Biophysical assays: DNA, histone, and DNMT3L binding studies using SPR, ITC, and fluorescence-based methods.
